Holy Week- A week of celebration, confusion, and sorrow.
We begin the week with a HUGE celebration as Jesus comes to town and is exceedingly popular! Everyone wants to talk to him and be around him as they wave their palms in excitement. Our celebration begins in the Fellowship Hall as we remember the journey that brings Jesus to Jerusalem. All of our choirs sing "Hosanna" to welcome the King of Kings.
Maundy Thursday is just a regular supper, right? For the disciples? Maybe. For Jesus? Far from it. Come as we try to understand the confusion, the regrets, and the compassion of that one night that would change it all. Our music is led by the Chancel Choir to the very last note: "Stay With me." A tradition of removing all color from the altar reminds us of the starkness of the hour.
Good Friday. What is good about it? Jesus is betrayed, falsely accused, and now is crucified. The evening is filled with congregational singing, Carolon Bells, and solos. It is a time of reflection. Can things get better?
