Hello!
Summer Choir continues the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month through August. You rehearse the morning of at 9:00 a.m. and then sing at the 9:30 a.m. service. Easy Peasy! On the other Sundays, vocal and instrumental soloists provide our special music. It’s summer, so we are terribly flexible!
I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but you learned a new song in June, “All Are Welcome” by Lenora and Hannah Rand. I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it. A soloist presented the song as Special Music, and then we continued to sing it during Communion for the month of June. Beginning July 6, we will begin learning “Come As You Are” by Lenora and Gary Rand and will use the song during Communion for the month of July. The message is powerful. Congratulations, congregation, on your two new songs!
Planting a seed here: September begins our music program at full swing. You can be part of Chancel Choir, Carolon Bell Choir, Worship Team, Middle School/High School Bells and Ensemble, K-5 Uke Choir, and K-5 Radical Ringers. I’ll make a full description with times and commitments in the August Newsletter. In the meantime, enjoy a slower pace than usual and watch the fire flies. Aren’t they fascinating?!?
Musically yours,
Becky Jones
Worship and Music Coordinator
