Music is happening at HCLC! After January rehearsals, the children’s choirs are ready to sing, ring, and strum for us in the month of February.
February 23 is especially an exciting Sunday as the River City Mixed Chorus joins us for worship. We have a surprise for them as the Sunday School kids present “If I Were a Fish” by Corook and Olivia Barton, accompanied by Uke alumni and guests. Word on the street is that kids are humming and singing this song at home. It is a catchy tune with some great lyrics!
In other news, Bill Sukstorf is gathering the talent of 4th-12th grade young people who play an instrument. Once interest is expressed, we will move forward on this fun adventure! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact Bill or myself. It’s a new idea, and it is growing legs!
A big thank you to the Chancel Choir and soloists for kicking off 2025. I can’t wait for you to hear Carolon Bells and the Middle School/High School Ensemble and Bell Choir. MS/HS choirs are bursting at the seams. Now, if I could just add an extra 8 hours each day so the MS/HS group can get some sleep, that would be FANTASTIC! Talk about burning the candle at both ends….whew!
It’s always wonderful to be in community with you.
Musically yours,
Becky Jones
