A Ukulele with a Strap!
Thanks to the keen eye of mathematician/seamstress/producer of beautiful antiques-Wendy Brenner, the “Charter” Ukulele Choir for Kids received straps for their ukes! You do know what that means, don’t you? It means there is no longer the drooping of ukes to the floor and trying to hoist them up. The kids were struggling, and Ms. Wendy saw the need.
With her scraps of denim that she uses to make other useable items (She is very crafty!), Wendy made 3 lengths of straps: small, medium, and large with color-coded ties. After the studs were ordered for the body of the uke, Wendy attached the studs, placed the new straps on, and then came in one Wednesday night rehearsal to fit the uke/strap to each kid.
Thanks to Wendy, the ukuleles and their new straps debuted at the Children Led Service and with much success! Thank you, Wendy, for having a loving and caring eye and making those Ukuleles shine (and the kids attached to them!)! Thank you, Wendy!
