Breathe With Me

Our congregation is in the midst of a huge transition. We are saying goodbye to someone we love very much, while an uncertain future stretches out ahead of us. During big life transitions like this, it's okay to feel all kinds of feelings - sad, excited, angry, confused, hopeful, worried. I know personally, I have felt all of those emotions (and more!) in the last 3 weeks of my life. When we are faced with life change or transition, it's important to sit with each emotion. Feel it, acknowledge it, and know that God is there with you.

Relax, and find your breath. When you're ready, pray with me:

Inhale: When emotions swirl within me, God,

Exhale: your arms are around me.

Repeat that breath prayer as many times as you would like. End your meditation time with one long inhale and one extra long exhale. YOU are loved and held by a God who laughs and cries with you.

"Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand."

-Isaiah 41:10

Youth Gathering 2022 - CANCELLED

As I was writing this blog, I got an email from the ELCA Youth Gathering that after much prayer, conversation and tears, they have decided to cancel the 2022 Youth Gathering in Minneapolis, MN. You can read their full letter to congregations here.

What does this mean for our congregation? Right now, at this moment, I'm not too sure! David Wellsandt and I are already talking about other trip options and will be in touch as soon as we have concrete plans. Gathering refunds will issued to those registered once the Gathering issues them to the congregations.

As we discern what this summer may look like, please keep an open mind and a flexible attitude! David and I are doing our best to do the same!

Treatie for Your Sweetie!

This month, on Sunday February 13th, we will be having a Valentine Bake Sale - Treatie for Your Sweetie! All donations will go to the Youth Fund for our summer trips! High School Youth will prep all of our goodies on Wednesday February 9th. Check your emails for details. Please plan to be there on the 9th for prep and on the 13th to help with the bake sale!
