In recognition of Black History Month, Pastor Jim will be hosting two movie discussions. (Due to the potential difficulties of getting everyone connected to a Netflix Watch Party as originally planned, the new plan is to watch the movies whenever is convenient and then join together to discuss each movie on Zoom.)
The first movie discussion takes place Sunday, February 14. We will be discussing the movie “Loving.” “Loving” is a story of a young couple’s interracial marriage in 1958 that sparks a court case that ends up at the Supreme Court. It is based on the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving. It is available on Netflix.
The Zoom discussion will begin at 8:45 pm on Sunday, February 14th. CLICK HERE to join the Zoom discussion. Passcode is 1234.
The second movie discussion will take place on Sunday, February 28, and we will be discussing the documentary “13th.” This documentary explores the intersection of race, justice, and mass incarceration in the United States. It is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution. It is also available on Netflix.
