Another Blizzard Impacts March Pantry - Unbelievable: This time the weather only impacted pantry prep! Due to the blizzard our food bank delivery originally scheduled for Wednesday was rescheduled and pantry prep cancelled. Luckily our food was delivered early Thursday and a dedicated group of volunteers spent Thursday morning unloading and stocking the food and Thursday afternoon packing 100 household and 175 food bags. Thankfully, we got everything done and were ready to open our drive-thru pantry service at 5:00 Thursday evening. It was a busy day.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to all of our volunteers! You are amazing, we couldn't do this without your help and support.
March Numbers: we served 120 families, equaling 547 individuals.
Food Pantry Shoppers: We had another great response from our Food Pantry Shoppers donating some of every food item we put in bags - cereal, bar soap, and canned vegetables being the most donated. Thanks to Peg's Pantry Shopper emails!
If you would like would like to be a Pantry Shopper and receive the weekly deals, email schneider7@cox.net and use Pantry Shopper as the subject. You'll receive an email or two a week with grocery sales and deals that will help stock our pantry.
Current Needs: Our greatest needs this month are – bath soap, toilet paper, cereal, fruit, crackers and ramen. Friendly Reminder- to help with our inventory control please only put your donations in the blue bin in the coat closet hallway at church.
Daytime Hour Volunteers: We continue to look for volunteers willing to help during daytime hours. This includes counting food, accepting Food Bank deliveries, and pre-pantry prep work. Please reach out to Kelli Joseph at ksjose123@cox.net, Pat Kern at patkern@cox.net or David Magnuson at davemagnsuon@cox.net if you are available to help during week days.
