It’s summer, and that means things are underway for the Faithful Builders and Habitat!
First, we’re starting our home a week early, on July 24th – the foundation was poured by a contractor, so we’ll start on the floor deck and walls. We're building a home just east of I-680 at 2594 Pratt. If you haven’t already, please go to FaithfulBuilders 2021 Build to sign up to help. Jim Schneider and a lot of regulars will be there. They're all super-helpful, and everybody will be happy to get you going.
You don't need to bring tools but should wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty (Jim recommends jeans, not shorts). If you have good work gloves, please bring them and a hardhat too if you have one. Habitat will provide them if you don't.
The crew begins each morning at 8 am with a short orientation of the build plan for that day, a word about safety, a word of prayer, and some breakfast. There are water breaks during the day (you might bring your own, but they'll have bottles), and a good lunch. If you have any questions, please contact Jim Schneider.
Second, Holy Cross is responsible for “food day” on August 7th. We need more volunteers and food. If you would like to help, you can contact Peg Schneider for more information.
Finally, for many years in a row, Holy Cross has pledged to raise $1,000 to support the Faithful Builders, and we pledged that amount again this year. Here is how you can donate:
1. Include donations along with your regular offering. Make sure to put “Faithful Builders – Habitat” in your memo line of your check.
2. CLICK HERE to make a donation online. Be sure to choose "Habitat" in the pull-down menu.
or
3. Give directly from your HCLChurch app. Choose "Habitat" from the pull-down menu.
Thanks for you continued support of this amazing mission!
