THANK YOU!!

These two words do not seem like enough to express our gratitude for your gifts and donations this past month. From providing for our Thanksgiving pantry to helping fill the need for increasing pantry numbers - you have supported us in every way.  We couldn’t be more thankful!

Thanksgiving food pantry:

During our Thanksgiving pantry we were able to provide 197 families with a turkey and groceries for a Thanksgiving meal.  We had wonderful volunteers who helped with prep and the actual pantry.

A special thank you to your church partners who helped so much with the donations and monetary gifts.

  • Lord of Love Lutheran Church
  • Northwest Hills Church
  • Maplewood United Methodist Church

Stories:  We wanted to share a couple of stories that make this ministry so impactful to so many.

  • Recently we had some volunteers sign up and were unaware who they were. They were wonderful volunteers and when we asked how they found out about helping they said they received our assistance with food and wanted to give back.
  • Girl Scout Donation - a donation of 4 carts of food was made to our pantry. The leader said they were in need in 2020 and used our pantry and this was her way of giving back.
  • Thanksgiving pantry - two elderly ladies were moved to tears when they were told what food they would receive at the pantry. They were both widowed and struggling to make ends meet.

We are making a difference in the lives of many!

Grants:  We have received a grant from Kountze Endowment Fund for the pantry in the amount of $4500.  Currently we are waiting on two additional grant submissions.

Volunteers:  Thanks to the many volunteers who have stepped up to help with pantry - we appreciate you.

Beginning September 17, confirmation students will be assisting with pantry prep on Wednesday evenings.  Since this is only part of their programming on Wednesdays, we welcome any parents who would like to assist in completing the prep once the children go to class.

If you would like to volunteer to help with upcoming pantries, please click here to sign-up. This will aid us in knowing who is coming to volunteer and to ensure we have opportunities for all.

November Numbers: we served 344 families, equaling 1.382 individuals. Wow!

Food Pantry Shoppers: Thanks to Peg's Pantry Shopper emails, the congregation continues to support the needs of the pantry.

Current Needs: Our greatest needs this month are cereal, soup, bar soap and toilet paper.
