Habitat for Humanity
Since 1994, Holy Cross has been a member of a Habitat for Humanity of Omaha partner called the Faithful Builders Coalition. This is an amazing group of faith communities who provide money, food, and labor to help build homes for those who need them. MONEY: Holy Cross has pledged $1,500 to the Coalition. To donate, you can use Tithe.ly (Ed set it up so you can designate Habitat for Humanity) or drop a check in the collection plate. Make checks payable to Holy Cross and mark the subject line “Habitat for Humanity.” Donations are fully tax deductible. FOOD: Members of the coalition provide food to workers on build days and Holy Cross’s food day is Saturday, Sept. 16th. To help provide food, contact Peg Schneider. LABOR: The classic way to help Habitat is hands-on construction. Construction takes place most Saturdays from August 12 through October 28th; to help with construction please sign up here https://bit.ly/HFHO-Faith23 or contact Jim Schneider. |

Holy Cross receives a $2000 grant for its food pantry!
The Working Here Fund Grant will provide funds to purchase food for the drive-through pantries hosted twice per month. “Our goal is to continue to make a difference in our community by providing food to our neighbors in need,” said Kelli Joseph, co-leader of the food pantry. “FCSAmerica is proud to support organizations dedicated to addressing food insecurity,” said Liz Kerrigan, community relations manager. Holy Cross food pantry is one of 138 organizations to receive a Working Here Fund grant in the second quarter of 2023. FCSAmerica awarded $601,040 during the latest grant cycle ending June 30, 2023. If you know of any grant opportunities you think the food pantry would benefit from, please contact Kelli Joseph or Kelley Kennedy. |
