As my internship as vicar at both Augustana Lutheran Church and Holy Cross Lutheran Church comes to successful completion, I am saddened to say goodbye. At the same time, I am overjoyed to celebrate with you, all that we accomplished and learned together. With extended hands and heart, thank you! I am grateful for your welcome extended to myself and my family this past year. You have provided a rich learning environment for me to grow and build capacity for ministry throughout my internship year. As a congregation, you’ve supported my call in Word and Sacrament and presented opportunities for me to apply and advance my pastoral skills while living into God’s call in my life. You’ve provided feedback, written and in conversations, which have encouraged reflection and intentional adjustments.
Many of you have walked alongside me, establishing trusting relationships that built a foundation necessary for effective shared ministry. For your willingness to support my call, to listen and gently push back as I hone my skills in proclaiming the Gospel message of grace, hope and love, I am deeply humbled wrapped in gratitude. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers long after the seeds sown together have grown and multiplied!
Monday, July 31, 2023, my internship officially concludes. As I continue to reflect on our ministry together, I graciously ask you to keep my family and I in prayer in the coming months as we re-establish ourselves in California, complete my candidacy approval process, and accept my call into ministry. My heart is full!
May God bless you and keep you!
May God’s face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
May God look kindly upon you, and give you peace!
Numbers 6:24-26
Warmly, Vicar Misty Lampshire
