Music at Holy Cross: WOW!
Every time I get the chance, I like to say how PROUD I am of Holy Cross Lutheran Church! Our tech team, ushers, Altar Guild, picker-upper of the bread (You know who you are!), musicians, and YOU are who make our worship inviting and come to life. It’s a lovely way to start the week to re-energize your soul.
The Seed Planted
Children-led service is one of the most fun services to put together! Everyone gets a moment to participate whether through singing, ringing, reading, or serving. The way the kids invest their time and talents today will follow them all of their days! The shy speaker that stands in front of the congregation might be a future school teacher/professor standing in front of full classrooms. The communion server may become a professional that helps those through crisis or volunteering at a food pantry. The choir member might decide to audition for school choirs or even audition for theatre shows in the community. The uke player might progress and play the National Anthem at the College World Series. The ringer might one day be directing the marching band, or better yet, become the Worship/Music Coordinator at Holy Cross Lutheran! Children-led service: seeds well planted!
Music in June…we turn into summer model.
YOU have an opportunity to sing every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month beginning in June with the Summer Chancel Choir. On the designated Sunday, you arrive at 9:00 a.m. to rehearse and sing for the 9:30 a.m. service that day. There are no strings attached, no dotted lines to sign, and no obligation except for the day! (Too good to be true, right?!?!?) Looking forward to seeing you in June!
Musically Yours,
Becky Jones
