It’s October, and not just any October.

On October 8, Holy Cross Lutheran Church installs Rev. Heather Grell as the pastor of HCLC.  I’m calling it a celebration, and what better way to celebrate than with music?!?!  Our Carolon Choir, Chancel Choir joined by friends & Middle/High School Ensemble, and Soloist, Deb Manning, help us celebrate this occasion along with Assistant to the Bishop, Rev. Greg Berger.  I do love a celebration and hope that you, too, join in for the festivities on October 8 at 9:30 a.m.

Of course, all of this is followed by a Potluck so that you can congratulate Pastor Heather and meet her family and friends. (Don’t forget a dish and extra for our guests!)  Kelsey Ellis, Faith and Formation Director, traces Pastor Heather’s journey here at at HCLC.  What a lovely article!

Other October talk:  Let’s talk about Ukes, Radical Ringers, Sunday School Kids, and Middle School/High School Bells & Ensemble.  You will see them all this month in worship.  MY HEART OVERFLOWS!!!!!!! I cannot begin to tell you how exciting it is to see these groups together.  The looks on their faces when we play a “church” song and then immediately play/sing the best Halloween song ever!  (By the way, we all know that “Rap” originated in the church as we have been “rapping” the liturgical settings for centuries.  It’s MY story, and I am sticking to it.)

October:  it’s not just any October.  It is a time of celebration, creating new memories, and making a joyful noise!

Musically Yours,
