Breathe With Me

As I'm writing this today, it's Thursday and I'm back in the office for the first time this week. I've been home this week with a sick kid, so I'm working hard to get a week's worth of work packed into a couple days. My mind is racing, my pencil needs sharpening, and this breath prayer is the last thing that I need to do before I run out of here to pick my daughter up from school. I have said a couple of times to myself, "I need to make this quick! I don't have time to write a breath prayer!" ....and there's my sign. A sign to myself that I need to stop. A sign that I need to breathe. I need to slow down and I need to be present. 

In life, there are so many moments that we fly through, trying to get things done quickly and not allowing ourselves the time, grace, and comfort to slow down and breathe. We owe it to ourselves to allow time to recognize God's presence in the world around us and all of the beauty that is in each day.

Slow down with me for a few minutes, take a deep breath, and pray with me:

Inhale: As life swirls around me, God,

Exhale: Slow me down and hold me.

Repeat that breath prayer as many times as you would like. End your meditation time with one long inhale and one extra long exhale.

"Be still, and know that I am God! I am exhalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth."
-Psalm 46:10

Sunday Morning Opportunities

If you are here on Sunday mornings, we have some FUN opportunities for you!

• If you are musically inclined, head to the sanctuary at 10:45 for Middle School/High School Ensemble, followed by Middle School/High School Bells. 
• If music isn't your thing, head back to the Youth Room at 10:45 for some coffee and conversation time with Kelsey.

Middle School Gathering - Save the Date!

6th-8th graders, mark our calendars for January 13-14, 2023 for the Nebraska Synod Middle School Gathering in Kearney, NE! Registrations will be handed out soon!

Youth Group

Youth Group is held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 pm. Each Wednesday will look a little different - we'll do bonfires, get to know one another, and throw in some "Faith Lens" Bible devotions. My hope is that our time together can be spent building meaningful relationships, having fun, and learning in a safe space where all feel welcomed and valued. 

Craft Fair 

Our annual Fall Craft Fair is set for Saturday November 19th from 9a-3p. This is a youth fundraiser and all junior high and high school youth are invited to help! Please SIGN UP HERE to help with food donations and volunteer!

High School Summer Trip - The Journey - July 9-14, 2023

Save the date, high school youth! We will be heading to Denver, CO on the Nebraska Synod Youth Mission Trip - The Journey! Registration materials will be available soon. Parents, watch your emails for a parent meeting sometime mid-November!
